A collage practice grounded in hands-on making

Artist bio

Ben Serbutt is a London-based collage artist and designer whose creative path began long before his professional career. Arriving from Australia in 1999 with just $185, he built a life in London through magazine design, branding, and creative leadership, developing a strong instinct for composition, colour, and visual storytelling.

After a divorce in 2019, he continued raising his children through a co-parenting rhythm that remains central to his life. In 2024, seeking time away from screens and a return to tactile creativity, he began making collages at his kitchen table. This hands-on practice became a way to reconnect with his first love – art – while modelling resilience and curiosity for his children. His work blends botanical imagery, geometric shapes, and text, drawing on his design background to explore themes of renewal, continuity, and the quiet strength found in nature.

Exhibits

Espacio Gallery

All Means All was a curated exhibition that explored inclusion in its many forms, questioning what it truly means to belong in contemporary society. The exhibition brought together artists whose practices engaged with themes of identity, equity, accessibility and representation across painting, photography, sculpture, digital and mixed media.

The exhibition created a space where borders dissolved, labels faded, and presence became the focus. Each artwork became part of a shared dialogue on visibility, belonging and the human experience.

No borders. No labels. Just presence.
